A lot of persons believe that boiling the egg literally means to let the eggs be left in boiling water for some time.  This is not so, as the eggs can be overcooked creating a gray-green color. Also the selection of eggs decides how well the eggs will peel once they are cooked.</p>
<p>Fresh eggs are not the ideal choice for hard-boiling.  Ensure the eggs are several days old. Hard boiling farm fresh eggs will customarily lead to eggs that are difficult to peel. If you have boiled a batch that are not so easy to peel, crack the eggs all around and put them to soak in cold water for a number of minutes.  This will enable the water to enter between the eggs and their shell so they are better to peel. </p>
<p>Lay the eggs in a single layer in a saucepan, covered by at least an inch or two of cold water. Starting with cold water and slowly bringing the eggs to a boil will help keep them from cracking. including a tablespoon of vinegar to the water will help keep the egg whites from leaving any eggs that happen to crack while cooking. Adding a half teaspoon of salt will prevent cracking and make the eggs easier to peel. Place the burner on high and bring the eggs to a boil. As soon as the water starts to boil, take awaythe pan from the heat for a couple of seconds.</p>
<p>Decrease the heat, and rejoin the pan to the burner. Let simmer for one minute then take the pan from the heat, cover, and let rest for 12  minutes. If you are doing a large bunch of eggs, you can check for doneness after 10 minutes by opening one egg. If it isn&#8217;t done, cook the other eggs a minute or two longer. The eggs should be done completely at 10 minutes, but there are variables which might just impact the timing.  These include the shape of the sauce pan, size and number eggs and amount of water in pan.  This check will also abolish the overcooking of the eggs.</p>
<p>Remove the eggs with a slotted spoon and place them into a bowl of ice water (this is if you have a lot of eggs) or strain out the water from the pan, and replace with cold water.  Repeat until eggs are cool.  </p>
<p>Peel the eggs if ready for eating or store them in a covered container in the refrigerator. They should be eaten within 5 days.<br />

Synsepalum dulcificum is the binomial name of the more commonly known miracle fruit (or miracle berry). The fruit from the tree can be eaten fresh. When eaten, it causes the tongue to experience bitter and sour food as sweet-tasting for over a period of 30 minutes to two hours.</p>
<p>The miracle berry can be taken fresh from one of the miracle fruit trees, but be sure to consume it immediately after picking from the bush. This is to ensure that you are taking it in its best form. It is, however, a safe idea to make sure that it is washed and cleaned thoroughly before taking it. This is to ensure that no microorganisms that can cause illnesses will march into your body due to eating an unclean berry. </p>
<p>Recently a company has produced miracle berries in tablet-like form, which can be chewed or simply left to dissolve on the tongue. These tablets are claimed to contain the fruit extract in its natural form. They make the tablets by keeping them freeze-dried right after picking them from the bush of one of the miracle fruit trees. After they are frozen and dried, it they grind it into a powdered form which is then compressed into tablets, ready to be eaten. </p>
<p>To keep its natural and fresh state, the tablets are placed in sealed blister packs of about 10 tablets and then sealed again in plastic or metallic packaging. Now it is so convenient &#8211; just buy it from the store or online, then take the miracle berry tablet. The good thing about these miracle fruit tablets is that they can be stored for up to 18 months.</p>
<p>It is basically easy to take and use the tablets: just let one dissolve on your tongue like an ordinary piece of candy. Once dissolved, you are ready to eat any bitter or sour food for the next 30 minutes to two hours. The duration of the effect varies from person to person, but when it wears off it will have the same effect where everything tastes as they used to. </p>

Salsa, avocado, cilantro and fresh hot tortilla chips are all included in tortilla soups. Below is a typical tortilla soup recipe with ingredients and method for preparation.</p>
<p>Ingredients</p>
<p>6 (6 inch) tortillas, preferably a little old and dried out 1/4 cup grape seed oil, peanut oil, or other high smoke point oil<br />
1 tiny onion, chopped (1/2 cup)<br />
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped<br />
1 medium Anaheim, poblano or jalapeno chile, seeded, veins taken out, and chopped<br />
4 cups chicken broth or homemade chicken stock<br />
1 can diced tomatoes, undrained<br />
1/2 teaspoon coarse salt<br />
1 1/2 cups shredded cooked chicken<br />
1 ripe medium avocado<br />
&#8216;1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese<br />
Chopped fresh cilantro<br />
1 lime, cut into wedges</p>
<p>Method</p>
<p>1.If using somewhat old, dried out tortillas, that is great. However, if not, and somewhat fresh tortillas are being used, put them on a baking sheet and place them in an oven at 200 Degree Fahrenheit for 10-15 minutes to dry them out. It is best to start with tortillas that do not have a lot of moisture in them. Slice the tortillas is two halves; slice each half into 1/4 inch strips. In a 3-quart saucepan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Fry strips in oil, 1/3 at a time, until light brown and crisp. Remove from pan; drain on paper towels. Reserve.</p>
<p>2.Heat the remaining oil in saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook onion in oil for 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Add garlic and chill; cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring often, until vegetables are crunchy. Mix in broth, tomatoes and salt. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Add chicken&#8217; heat until hot.</p>
<p>3.To serve, peel and pit the avocado. Slice into 1 inch slices. Divide half of the tortilla strips among </p>
<p>4 individual serving bowls; pour in soup. Top with avocado and cheese; decorate with remaining tortilla strips and cilantro. Presents with lime wedges.<br />

Ground black pepper and/or soy sauce are sometimes incorporated in the recipe.</p>
<p>Ingredients</p>
<p>For the topping:</p>
<p>2 medium onions, thinly sliced </p>
<p>1/4 cup all-purpose flour </p>
<p>2 tablespoons panko bread crumbs</p>
<p>1 teaspoon kosher salt</p>
<p>Nonstick cooking spray </p>
<p>For beans and sauce:</p>
<p>2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon kosher salt, divided </p>
<p>1 pound fresh green beans, rinsed, trimmed and halved </p>
<p>2 tablespoons unsalted butter </p>
<p>12 ounces mushrooms, trimmed and cut into 1/2-inch pieces </p>
<p>1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper </p>
<p>2 cloves garlic, minced </p>
<p>1/4 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg </p>
<p>2 tablespoons all-purpose flour </p>
<p>1 cup chicken broth </p>
<p>1 cup half-and-half </p>
<p>Directions</p>
<p>1.Preheat the oven to 475 degrees F.</p>
<p>2.Mix the onions, flour, panko and salt in a large mixing bowl and toss. Coat a sheet pan with nonstick cooking spray and evenly spread the onions on the pan. Arrange the pan on the middle rack of the oven and bake until golden brown, about 30 minutes. </p>
<p>3.Toss the onions 2 to 3 times throughout cooking. Once finished, remove from the oven and set aside. Turn the oven down to 400 degrees F.</p>
<p>4.While the onions are cooking, prepare the beans. Bring a gallon of water and 2 tablespoons of salt to a simmer in an 8-quart saucepan. Add the beans and blanch for 5 minutes. Empty in a colander and immediately plunge the beans into a large bowl of ice water to discontinue the cooking. Drain and set aside.</p>
<p>5.Melt the butter in a 12-inch cast iron skillet set over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms, 1 teaspoon salt and pepper and cook, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms start to relinquish some of their liquid, roughly 4 to 5 minutes. </p>
<p>6.Add the garlic and nutmeg and maintain cooking for another 1 to 2 minutes. Shake the flour over the mixture and stir to combine. Cook for 1 minute. Add the broth and boil for 1 minute. </p>
<p>7.Reduce the heat to medium-low and put in the half-and-half. Cook until the mixture thickens, stirring at times, about 6 to 8 minutes.</p>
<p>8.Take from the heat and stir in 1/4 of the onions and all of the green beans. Top with the left over onions. Place into the oven and bake until bubbly, approximately 15 minutes. </p>
<p>9.Remove and serve right away<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I love New Year&#8217;s resolutions! In fact, I very rarely keep them &#8211; but they always make me feel like I&#8217;m aiming for something. <p>The first one is to buy better gifts.</p>
<p>Every year, as my friends&#8217; birthdays approach, I struggle for ideas about what to buy them as a gift. Sometimes I will spend a whole day looking, until I find something that I think is really fun and original &#8211; but most of the time I end up giving them something that, although it&#8217;s a cool present, isn&#8217;t the best I could do.</p>
<p>With that in mind, I have decided to make 2010 my year of giving cool gifts. I&#8217;m going to plan ahead, and take a good look at the best gifts the year has to offer, so that when my friends&#8217; birthdays come around I won&#8217;t get stuck for ideas. Below are the best I&#8217;ve seen so far.</p>
<p>My second resolution, which sort of ties in with all this, is to be more intelligent about my spending habits. I have recently started reading &#8220;How to get rich&#8221; books, and the most sensible piece of advice I have found so far is to always look for a better deal!</p>
<p>With my resolutions in mind, all of the products below have been chosen for two main reasons. Firstly, I think they&#8217;re cool, fun, or functional.
